Thursday Update

It is hard to believe that Jess is already 8 1/2 months old. Where in the world has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday she was a newborn baby girl.... now she is getting all big and stuff. :) She is pulling up on everything and cruising along furniture. She is chewing on everything in site, so I think a 6th tooth might be in the near future. She still weighs about 20lbs. And she is working real hard to perfect her wave. Every morning, my mom sits on the porch with her as I get into my Yukon and drive away.... and every morning, I wave for like 2 minutes straight as I get in the car, pull out, and drive away slowly. I have a feeling she will catch on before too long.

Lastnight, she sat between my dad's legs and we rolled her little ball back and forth. She would go crazy with it and somehow, it would come rolling back to me. It was funny. She was getting so excited.

Jessica is still using her little potty atleast once a day. This morning, she got a little anxious and peed on my lap before I could sit her on the potty. It was pretty funny. I had just gotten dressed for the day, so I had to go change. Silly girl. She was just so serious sitting on her potty this morning. She was wearing her little strawberry nightgown, holding on to her blankey with one hand and her little ball in the the other hand. And she looked like she was in deep thought. She peed and then reached for me. It is truly hilarious. I love her.

I have been trying to get ready for our Hawaii trip. We are all so excited. in exactly 8 days, we will be sitting on a plane.... over lots of water... which freaks me out a bit, but that's okay. I hope Jess cooperates during the flight. Thankfully, I will have lots of family there to help if need be. I know I can always count on my bro-in-law Matt to get her to sleep. And Ellie, of course, will keep her happy. I just set in stone all of our transportation during our trip. We are renting a 12 passenger van while there. Seriously, just that alone cracks me up. Our family.... all packed in one huge honker van... this will be the Griswolds ALL over again! I just can not wait to lay on the beach... toes in the sand... sipping on some yummy drink... watching my baby girl eat alot of sand (and then probably poopping it back out, too!)... 10 days with the fam. Wow. Or should I say... Maui Wowi!
