Maui Trip - Day 3

08-10-08

Jess is snoring. It is 9:06pm and we are turning down for the evening. We woke at 6:30 this morning and got ready for our day. I put Jess in the backpack carrier and the two of us headed down to the walking path that parallels the shoreline. We walked about a mile south and then came back to find my sis and her 3 kiddos just arriving to the beach. Perfect timing! Jess had fallen asleep in the backpack carrier. She was so cute—she was asleep with her head on her little arm. She woke up once she heard the kids yelling her name. We spent the morning/early afternoon at the beach and pool. They have this great little kiddie pool beach area—with sand, but it is pool water. I held Jess’s hand as she walked in the sand. She was a little unsure about what to think. We played around in the pool a bit and then we settled down and she took an hour nap on my chest in the shade. Then, Jess and I headed back to the room to shower.Mom and Dad returned from taking Lisa and Chad to their excursion and we had some lunch overlooking the resort. Lisa and Chad went on a hiking, rock climbing, repelling excursion today. Dad, Matt, Nick, and Ellie went on a helicopter ride. Everyone really had a great day. We ended the day with the most fabulous dinner at Mama’s Fish House. Seriously, THE best dinner I have ever had in my life. They even brought purple sweet potatoes for Jessica. She loved them. She has been eating awesome! Every meal, she eats. She would never eat baby food, so we are just going straight to table food-- and she likes it. I guess it is the texture of baby food she does not like. She had some strawberries, cantaloupe, chicken, and bread at lunch. After dinner, Abigail Marie had a little poo accident, so Matt cleaned her up by dipping her in the ocean. It really was funny. While they were dealing with that, my Dad and I are over in the grass changing Jess. Our family... well, our family cracks me up. There is seriously never a dull moment. There was a little rain shower on our way to dinner, so when we left the restaurant, we were delighted to see a beautiful rainbow over Mama's.

We had a great time in the Silver Bullet on the way back to the hotel. We had an early dinner, so we got back fairly early. Mom, Jess, and I walked down to the Grand Wailea Shops and I was so excited to see John and Kate from John and Kate Plus Eight. It was neat, because I watch that show every so often. Supposedly, they were filming a show there, but I never saw any of that action. When I saw them, they were just walking through the hotel.
Now, it is 9:20pm and I am about to go join Jess in dreamland. Goodnight!
