Maui Trip - Day 7

08-14-08

Today is Thursday. It is 11:20am and Jess is napping. We slept on a rollaway lastnight and it was comfy, but very small. I kept waking up, because I didn’t want Jess falling off the bed. She almost did once. She woke up crying and she was hanging off the bed head first! Tonight, we will go back to the pull out couch. We got up this morning and all the guys went to Cheeseburger in Paradise over in Lahaina for breakfast. The girls went down to the breakfast buffet here at the Westin and had a nice breakfast. Minutes after we started eating, Jess broke out into hives and then, as we were getting up to leave, Abbie peed on the patio in between our table and the people next to us. She is on her way to being potty trained, but she has a few accidents every so often. I tell ya, there is never a dull moment with this bunch. After breakfast, I brought Jess up to the room to nurse her and we both took a nap. She is still sleeping and I just checked my email and I am just waiting for her to wake up. There is a lot more action here at this hotel than at the Grand Wailea. You can hear children screaming, music, waves, and all sorts of beach commotion from outside until all hours of the night. Tonight, we are going to our hotel’s luau. I am excited. Luaus are fun!

That was the end of my journal during the trip, but I will continue...

After our nap, Jess and I headed down to the beach for some fun in the sand and sun! Here are some photos of her first real experience on the beach. I allowed her to get as sandy as she wanted. As you can see, she had a good time getting dirty...

Jess was so cute, digging a hole. She was getting at it, digging fast and hard. It was hilarious. Here are pictures of my hole digger...

And, the aftermath... Jessica was completely captivated at the luau. We had an excellent family style dinner of a variety of meats, salad, taro chips, poi, and more... including a selection of yum-o desserts. The macadamia tart was my favorite. It almost looked like a miniature pecan pie, but with macadamia nuts! It was fantastic. Here are some photos of the evening.

Another day in paradise....
