Maui Trip - Day 9

Not only was today a special day, because we were in Maui with our family on the beach in the sand and sun, but..... today Savanah Grace was born!! Sarah and Ben are the proud parents of this sweet beautiful new baby girl. Just look at how truly sweet and beautiful she really is... That right there is the face of an angel.

So, besides awaiting the baby news... we spent the day on the beach. Again. :) We got up and went for a morning walk on the beach. I carried Jess in the backpack carrier that Tiff and Landon let us borrow. Jessica just loves this thing! Once again, she fell asleep during our walk. I took this snapshot of my footprints in the sand. This photo reminds me of the famous Footprints poem, because I was carrying Jess on my back... just like Jesus carries us. Just like any mommy (or daddy) who unconditionally loves her child, I will always carry Jess when she needs me to... no matter how old or big she gets.

That evening, we took some photos on the beach. We planned a big entire family photo shoot, but (knowing us!), we could not get ourselves out the door early enough. So, we shot a few... and rescheduled for the next night. Here is Nanny and Papa with all the grandkids. Now, if Jess was only looking at the camera...

After our photo shoot, Shara, Matt, and the kids headed over to Lahaina for dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Dad didn't feel like walking, so we stayed at our hotel and enjoyed a yum-o dinner at Ono's with my parents and Lisa and Chad. It was a very nice low-key quiet dinner. It was hard to accept that this was really our last night in Maui. Part of me wanted to stay up late and... well, I am trying to think of what I would actually do if I did stay up late... but the other part of me was so tired! So, we headed back to the room and called it a night.
